COVID-19 TIMELINE OF EVENTS

 

On January 20, 2020, as the novel corona virus stride and began progressing cases globally, BRTTH Top Management gave instruction for immediate awareness among the frontline areas of the hospital such as the Emergency Department and the Out Patient Department. The Hospital Public Health Unit was instructed to conduct awareness on handwashing and proper cough/sneezing etiquette among patient with respiratory tract infection seen at the OPD.

On January 24, 2020, thru it HEMS-Hospital Epidemiology Surveillance (HESU) unit, BRTTH conferred its preparedness and response plan on January 24, 2020 as its Day 1 meeting in view of the novel coronavirus (2019-ncov) concern.

On January 7, 2020, continuation of 9 o’clock habit meeting was conducted together with the division heads as well as the hospital’s infectious disease specialists, Dr. Ann Bellen and Dr. Joan Bonaobra. Matters discussed were communication protocols, creation of BRTTH nCoV Task force  and BRTTH preparedness plan.

On January 31, 2020, EREID Orientation and Infection Control Refresher Course was conducted for members of BRTTH nCoV Task Force.

On February 1, 2020, walk-through activity was conducted with nCoV designated facilities in the hospital.

On February 2, 2020, directional signages were posted to guide patients and incoming vehicles

On February 3, 2020, a simulation exercise and post-intervention evaluation was facilitated to assess key areas that need to address regarding the process flow for patients.

On February 4, 2020, the hospital conducted General Assembly and Orientation for BRTTH Personnel on nCoV Protocol.

On the same day, Dr. Joan Bonaobra (Infectious Disease Specialist) and Dr. Eric Raborar (HEMS Coordinator), attended the RDRRMC Emergency Meeting for nCOV.

On February 18, 2020, BRTTH together with the DOH-CHD 5, conducted a Health Dissemination and Capability Building activity on the Preparedness and Response Plan for Covid 19 at Hotel St. Ellis Legazpi. The event was attended by different district and private hospitals, as well as uniformed agencies.
