BRTTH reports no additional COVID-19 cases

Bicol Regional Training and Teaching Hospital (BRTTH) reported no additional COVID-19 cases after the Department of Health—Center for Health Development (DOH-CHD) Region V confirmed six (6) new cases of the virus from the institution.
According to DOH-CHD Region V, four new cases of COVID-19 were reported on March 16-17, all were health care workers of BRTTH. The other two cases confirmed on March 25 were patients of the said health care workers.
Following the report of DOH-CHD, BRTTH immediately conducted contract tracing to identify and monitor the individuals whom those that tested positive has come in contact with.
The contract tracing of the said institution recorded eleven medical staffs with exposure. They were immediately notified for quarantine and swab test; seven medical staffs used the hospital facility for isolation while the other four were home-quarantined.
Due to the immediate awareness and action, no other patients, watchers and health care workers got infected.
With the rapid growth of COVID-19 cases in the Philippines, the Department of Health reminded the public to enforce and follow safety protocols such as one-meter social distancing, proper hand hygiene and proper use of face mask and face shield to avoid virus transmission.
