BASIC INFECTION PREVENTION AND CONTROL

The Bicol Regional Hospital and Medical Center (BRHMC) - Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) Committee with assistance from the Professional Education Training and Research Office (PETRO) conducted a face-to-face training on Basic Infection Prevention and Control for healthcare workers. Divided into two (2) sets to comply with COVID-19 safety protocols, the trainings were conducted on July 27-28 and August 10-11, 2022 at the 3rd Floor - PSSB Conference Hall. The objectives of the training were to disseminate basic infection prevention and control practices, as well as increase awareness, commitment and compliance of all personnel with IPC protocols.

Resource speakers Dr. Anna Lynda T. Bellen, Dr. Christine Jane G. Hermo, Dr. Ma. Fortuna S. Marcelo, Engr. Noly M. Panuelos, Mr. Gil Soneja, and the IPC nurses discussed various topics within their fields of expertise. At the end of the training, the IPC nurses conducted Demonstrations and Return Demonstrations for Hand Hygiene to ensure correct performance of the procedure.
