HIV / AIDS CORE TEAM (HACT)


Bicol regional Training & Teaching Hospital is tertiary referral center in Legazpi City Albay. It has established its HACT on May 2006 and an HIV Treatment Hub for the Bicol region since the 3rd quarter of 2007.

Treatment Hub: A hospital facility with an established HACT providing prevention, treatment, care, and support services to PLHIV, including but not limited to HIV counselling and testing, clinical management, and patient monitoring. ARVs can only be accessed through these facilities.

The HIV and AIDS Core Team (HACT) will be the primary group tasked to provide treatment, care, and support services to PLHIV, as well as to implement policies and guidelines on matters relating to HIV and AIDS in a hospital setting. Depending on the organizational structure/specialty of the hospital, the Infection Control Committee (ICC) may also function as the HACT.
