BRTTH celebrates the Christmas season with a Virtual Program on Awards and Incentives for Service Excellence (PRAISE) and Year-End General Assembly



BRTTH held its first Virtual PRAISE and Year-end General Assembly last December 29, 2020 recognizing the extraordinary efforts of its personnel especially during this time of pandemic.

Assistant Regional Director Ferchito Avelino of Department of Health - Center for Health Development Bicol sent his message on behalf of Dir. Ernie V. Vera congratulating the awardees and everyone who received honors in the PRAISE awards. ARD Avelino thanked them for having contributed in the success, efficiency and improvement of BRTTH, as well as recognized the part health workers played in dedicating quality service with the belief that one day every Filipino or Bicolano becomes healthier.

BRTTH then commemorates the past through a brief video of its 100 years of service and then the present and future plans through a presentation of “The Great Reset.” This highlights its 2020 accomplishments of being ISO 9001:2015 certified, implementing the BRTTH Health Highway Program: “TeleHealth Project” – offering patients free virtual consultation (TeleConsultation), virtual answering of inquiries (TeleService), and doctor-to-doctor case management referrals and/or patient transfer referrals all through the use of an in-house developed TeleHealth Information System or “ThIS,” showcasing sponsored clinical trials for the purpose of finding out if a new treatment is safe and effective for its end user,  and a brief showcase of the turn-over of the “Aruga sa Batang may Cancer” which provide patients, caregivers and other healthcare providers an access to information related to pediatric palliative care with a website having 4 major components: Learning Management System for Health Professionals and Caregivers, Telemedicine, and Pediatric Cancer Registry.

The Great Reset was then followed by the recognition of Newly Hired and Promoted Personnel and retirees, thanking them for their dedication and years of service. The program continued with the BRTTH SinGaling Competition, awarding the performers cash prizes according to their final ranking. The winning number for the Solo performance was from the Administrative Division; Ms. Christine Isah Rinon entitling her to the P2,000.00 cash prize. The 1st runner up from the Nursing Division, Mr. Lord Baden Palencia, 2nd and 3rd Runners up, Ms. Arianne Daep from Finance Division and Ms. Mary Rose Beliete from the Medical division, respectively. All runners up received a consolation price of P1,000.00 cash prize each.

Recognition was then given to the COVID Response team for their invaluable contribution to the hospital COVID-19 operations. This included recognition of Human Resource of Health (HRH) personnel, the Hospital Emergency Management Staff, trainers, disinfection team and the hospital Infectious disease specialists, with special recognition to Dr. Joan E. Bonaobra in grateful recognition of her immeasurable service, tireless effort and sincere dedication during this COVID 10 pandemic.

This brings the program to the second part of the BRTTH SinGaling Competition: group performance, having the winners receive P5,000.00 for the grand prize and P1,000.00 for the runners up. The group champion were the representatives and division heads from the administrative division then followed by the 1st to 3rd runners up from the nursing, medical, and finance divisions respectively.

In the spirit of the holidays, the final raffle comprised of 10 winners receiving a cash prize of P1,000.00, 4 winners of P2,000.00 each and one P5,000.00 grand prize which was awarded to Mr. Jimelito Rico.

The programme was concluded by a heart-warming message of thanks from Dr. Honey May Raborar, the Office-in-charge for Chief Medical Professional Staff, expressing her gratitude for the dedication and tireless efforts of the BRTTH health workers, despite the many challenges the year 2020 had brought.
